Learn skills to help saves lives at WBA Feb. 28
While automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are available in many public venues, being unfamiliar or uncomfortable with the device is a barrier to their use in a medical emergency.
The Women’s Business Alliance will help banish those concerns at its Feb. 28 luncheon in downtown Houma. Sydney Doxey, Acadian Ambulance Service Operations Manager, will explain the proper use of an AED to interrupt a sudden cardiac arrest, as well as instruct on proper CPR techniques.
The networking luncheon will begin at noon Thursday, February 28, 2019, at The Main Affair, 7879 Main St. in Houma. The $20 membership registration can be completed online at www.wbahouma.org; tickets are $25 at the door. Cost for nonmembers is $40 for pre-registration or $45 at the door. (Membership is encouraged for $40 annually or $150 for corporate members.) Sponsorship opportunities are available to promote local businesses.
The meeting is open to WBA members and the general public. For more information on the luncheon or memberships, please visit www.wbahouma.org or email info@wbahouma.org.
