The Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly General Membership Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Courtyard By Marriott in Houma.
Chamber members and their employees are encouraged to attend this monthly event and network with other area business people.
Speaker: State Representative Jerome Zeringue
Rep. Zeringue is the Executive Director for the Louisiana Flood Risk Coalition (LFRC), an organization that was established in 2016 to advocate for reform of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), to protect our citizens participating in the NFIP, and to develop responsible floodplain management within coastal and riverine communities.
The NFIP is scheduled this year for reauthorization by Congress. Rep. Zeringue will report to us what they’re doing to ensure that the NFIP is both sustainable and fiscally responsible in helping to mitigate flood loss, and what we can do to assist in these efforts.
